Tansman composed his Concert Piece for the Left Hand for Paul Wittgenstein, an American exile, in 1943. He left it merely in the form of a piano score. For 65 years it remained unpublished, until 2008, when Polish composer Piotr Moss produced a congenial orchestration of the piece in response to a request from CPO. With this tremendous accomplishment, the music world has won back a highly significant work.
