One of the great singing cowboys originally discovered by Gene Autry, Jimmy Wakely became one of the most popular western singers of the late 1940's, starred in several cowboy movies, and by 1962 had sold over 15 million records. In the mid-1960's he started his own record label and released albums by country stars Johnny Bond, Noel Boggs and others. Presented here is Wakely's tribute to the king of western swing, Bob Wills, from an album originally released in 1973. Wakely covers many of Will's best loved tunes including "Take Me Back To Tulsa," "Time Changes Everything" and "San Antonio Rose." All selections have been newly remastered.
