On Renayate, Algerian Berber artist Houria Aichi honors such great female Algerian singers as Meriem Fekkai, Fadela Dziria, Remitti, Baggar Hadda and Cherifa. Moved by their struggles and courage, Aichi also includes a song of Sraoui, or traditional chant, to acknowledge the anonymous singers. The album features accompaniment by Mohamed Abdennour (mandolin), Ali Bensadoun (ney), Smail Benhouhou (piano) and Amar Chaoui (percussion).
