Low Sun Fire is The Amprays' second album. Bliss & It's Consequences was released in 2001. For reasons other than unchecked paranoia, Low Sun Fire was recorded in a bomb shelter at Cleveland, Ohio's Bombshack studio. The contained, ricocheting sound seemed to fit with the sometimes claustrophobic songs. Mike McDonald (the Revelers, Viva Caramel, Coffinberry) presided over the sessions -- most of which were held in 2005 and 2006. Mixing commenced in the summer of 2006. The band included a collection of musicians now scattered across the U.S. The musicians: A.K. Strange - guitars, vocals Miles Loretta - drums Doug McKean - bass, lead guitar on tracks 1 and 5 Chris Allen - lead guitar on track 9; ghosts on track 10 Keith Hanna - bass on tracks 1 and 9 Chris Hanna - Hammond B-3 on track 7 Tom Prebish - upright bass on track 8.
