Brazilian guitarist and singer, Allison Carvalho started playing the guitar at the age of 9. She was graduated in Music Education and Classical Guitar in Brazil and was personally influenced by some of the greatest classical and popular guitarists and composers such as Abel Carlevaro, Eduardo Issac, Kevin Gallagher, Paulo Bellinati, Marlos Nobre and Dori Caymmi. In Brazil, Allison performed mostly the classical repertoire. Living in New York since 2001, she currently plays a diversified repertoire blending influences from her classical background and from her passion for popular music. Her first album "Céu Aberto" (Open Sky) showcases some of her abilities as an interpreter and composer presenting a versatile selection of pieces that includes Latin and Brazilian music for solo guitar and for guitar, vocals and hand percussion.
