This is really a must for any fan, specifically for unseen footage and the interviews shot specially for the film. However there is very little new information in the film. Fans who have read a large number of interviews and articles, like myself, will find the same information presented in the film. Also a lack of information on certain aspects of the musicians (very little on drummers) is very frustrating. It feels at times like this is not the whole story as eras of the band are often glossed over. All the same it is very entertaining.

I watch this movie in the cinema and I can say that emotions are really quite the sames with this dvd. The story is very interesting, especially the first era, and the extras too. I found interesting the Jeff's story, shooted in Montan, where he speaks honestly about his childhood and his moving to Seattle.
It's a must have for any Pearl Jam or grunge fan

Very engaging history of the band, Pearl Jam, from their humble origins in Seattle to touring the world. Charts the development of Eddie Vedder into confident singer, writer and band leader. Thoroughly entertaining throughout. There is a lot of coverage of Christ Cornell and the Seattle music scene and how these musicians share an almost unique comraderie. Great music compliments the excellent storytelling from director, Cameron Crowe.

I went to see it at the theatre two times and I couldn't wait to get this dvd. It's amazing, an excellent gift for any music lover, child of the 90's and of course, for any Pearl Jam fan.

It's been a long road but in those 20years Pearl Jam have stayed the course and flourished in between dips and tragedy. They remain fresh and innovative as well as still being able to slay most of their contempories in the live arena. When you hear a band are releasing an in depth bio-pic you can't help but think 'Spinal Tap' but here we have gold and a documentary that tells their story well, in an informative and entertaining manner and delivers on all fronts.

Each member brings something worthwhile to the table and the story of Pearl Jam is one that should be heard, seen and told, They have lasted the journey from the heady days of grunge in it's infancy to the modern day.

As Musical documentaries go it doesn't re-invent the wheel but it's a great watch and an emotional rollercoaster at times.

An absolute must for any Pearl Jam fan out there
